जब स्कूल में जाए तो कैसे जाए?जब शिक्षकों के पास विद्यार्थी किस तरह रहे, क्या—क्या करे और क्या—क्या न करे?
विद्यार्थी का अर्थ होता है, जिसे पढ़ने की दुष्पूर आकांक्षा उत्पन्न हुई है; जिसके भीतर पढ़ने की प्यास जगी है। पढ़ने की प्यास साधारण नहीं होती हैं््
पढ़ने का मन बड़ा साधारण है।
पढ़ने की प्यास बड़ी असाधारण है।
डाक्टर इंजीनियर आविष्कारक वैज्ञानिक साइंटिस्ट पुलिस प्रशासन आईं पी एस आई ए एस जज वकील जैसे तो हर बच्चे भी बनना चाहता है,
विद्यार्थी होना दुर्लभ है।
जो वह नहीं जानता हैं, वह भी वह दावा करता हैं..
जानने का, क्योंकि जानने के दावे में अहंकार की तृप्ति है।
जिन बातों का उन्हें कोई भी पता नहीं है,
उनका भी वह उत्तर देते हैं््
क्योंकि यह वह कैसे माने कि उत्तर,
और हमें पता नहीं हैं! वह ऐसी सलाहें देता है।
जिन्हें कोई माने तो गड्डे में गिरेगा, क्योंकि वह किसी अनुभव से सलाह नहीं दे रहा है। वह तो सलाह देने का मजा ले रहा है।
जैसे यह बात तो कोई भी कह सकता हैं।
कि पढ़ो लिखों वैज्ञानिक साइंटिस्ट बनो।
पर उस बात का बहुत मूल्य नहीं होता हैं।
पर पढ़ने की इच्छा अति दुर्लभ है।
क्योंकि पढ़ने की इच्छा का अर्थ हुआ—यह स्वीकार कि मुझे मालूम नहीं हैं। मुझे मालूम करना है।
यह स्वीकार करना होगा कि मैं अज्ञानी हूं।
यह स्वीकार करना पड़ता हैं। कि मैं समर्पित होने को तैयार हूं।
कि मैं भिक्षा की झोली फैलाने को राजी हूं।
बेशर्म भिक्षा की झोली फैलाने की हिम्मत से कोई विद्यार्थी बनता है। लाग—लपेट, संकोच, शर्म, सब छोड़ कर कोई विद्यार्थी बनता है।
उसी क्षण विद्यार्थी का एक जन्म हो जाता हैं!
जिस क्षण उन्हें पता लगता है कि मेरा सारा अतीत व्यर्थ था, कूड़ा—कर्कट था। बहुत कठिन है यह स्वीकार करना, क्योंकि अतीत यानी तुम्हारे माता-पिता। जो तुम्हें अब तक जो दिया था, उसे अनदेखा कर देना।
जिस क्षण तुम्हें दिखाई पड़ता है कि मेरा अतीत, सारा का सारा एक अंधेरी रात था, उस क्षण तुम विद्यार्थी बनते हो।
यह जो शिक्षा की खोज है, इसमें समझौते नहीं चलते। शिक्षा कोई समझौता नहीं है। अगर तुम ठीक थे तो ठीक थे, अगर गलत थे तो गलत थे। यह भी माता-पिता की तरकीब है कि माता पिता कहता है
,
कुछ बातें तुम्हारे जीवन में गलत रहीं, होगी उनको ठीक कर दिया हों, ऐसे बाकी जीवन तो सब ठीक ही है। तो तुम्हारे जीवन में क्रांति कभी न होगी, सुधार हो सकता है। और सुधार की आकांक्षा बच्चों की आकांक्षा नहीं है। विद्यार्थी की आकांक्षा तो महाक्रांति के लिए है।
विद्यार्थी तो कहता है। कि मैं अपने पूरे अतीत से स्वयं को विच्छिन्न कर लेना चाहता हूं।
मैं चाहता हूं कि फिर से मेरी शुरुआत हो,
मैं चाहता हूं कि फिर क ख ग से शुरुआत हो,
मैं चाहता हूं कि फिर से मेरा जन्म हो।
यही विद्यार्थी की आकांक्षा है।
एक जन्म हुआ था—मां से, पिता से;
अब मैं चाहता हूं्
शिक्षकों द्वारा एक और जन्म हो।
एक जन्म था शरीर का,
अब मैं अपनी आत्मा का जन्म चाहता हूं।
